Newsletter #19 – Week 5, Term 4: Friday 9th November 2018
Message from Our Principal
A sincere thank you to everyone who was involved in making our Grandparent’s morning tea such a wonderful occasion.
Our Year 3 classes prepared a beautiful Mass and this was followed by a morning tea in the hall, where students could enjoy spending time with their Grandparents.
Parish Fete
On Sunday, November 11th , our parish will be holding their annual Parish Fete/Bargain Bazaar commencing after the 9.00am Family Mass. The fete will begin at 10.00am until 1.00pm. The Fete is the only major fundraiser for the Parish and it desperately relies on the proceeds to help out financially with many things required in and around the Church and School. This is a very important event in our Community calendar where the School and Parish can work together as one.
Over the next few weeks the staff will commence the process of planning for 2019. The current class teachers have the initial responsibility of splitting the classes for the following year. The class teachers know the children best and have seen how the students interact with others, both in the classroom and playground. The teachers consider the social groups of each child and take these into account when determining class composition. This is achieved in collaboration with the other year level teacher. Teachers divide each class of children into two even groups with approximately the same number of each gender in each group and mixed ability levels.
